Narmada Shiva Lingam
Shiva Lingams are egg-shaped stones of cryptocrystalline quartz that are collected by villagers at the banks of the Narmada river once a year. To Hindus, the Narmada is one of the seven holy rivers of India. Shiva Lingams are of high significance in the Hindu culture because their markings symbolize those on the forehead of Lord Shiva. Shiva Lingams are considered sacred and powerful stones and are viewed as a symbol of fertility.
