Thank you for visiting! First, I would like to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the support Stone & Violet has received over the last few years! Whether you have been shopping with me for some time now, or are new to finding the shop, I am grateful for your visit and hope that you find a special handmade gift or earthmade treasure to welcome into your space.
Stone and Violet is run predominately by myself, Lauren, with the helping hands of my husband, daughter, son, sister, mother and father. As the daughter of a carpenter, I have had a love of woodworking since I was a young girl. My love for crystals was a gift handed down to me by my mother and art became an important hobby that I had adopted on my own at a young age.
Here in our online shop you will find handmade shelf displays for your crystal and mineral collection. For years I found myself longing for a special and artistic way to display my crystals and other treasures and had begun crafting and offering these designs online in 2010.
Sacred geometric boards, grids for crystal energy work and tarot boxes eventually became a focus.
You will also find a regularly updated selection of crystals, minerals and select goods. Crystals have been an important part of my life and I believe wholly in the energies and vibrations of these natural and sacred pieces of earth.
Growing up I felt a strong pull to have the companionship of crystal energy. It was always a challenge to find selections of pieces to consider. For Stone & Violet, I take the utmost care in the selection of crystals I carry and travel regularly to be able to select pieces by hand and eye. I choose to carry in my shop only pieces that feel energetically well and positive.
My first artistic venture began back in 2002, which is the year I began selling my original paintings both locally and internationally.
My start was with drawing and painting and then eventually my love for wood came through and I worked for years in the medium of Pyrography.
In the years that have followed I have been fortunate to have my work featured in several prominent ways. My piece titled "The Climb" has been featured as the cover art of the Korean translation edition of Hakubutsu / Le Boudhha Blanc by Japanese writer Tsuji Hitonari. In 1999 Le Boudhha Blanc won the French Literary prize Prix Femina Etranger.
My pair of raven studies were featured on the set and film of the 2014 release of Oldboy starring Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Olson, and Josh Brolin.
Finally, "Sanctuary" has been featured as the cover art for Kelimeler ve Kader, a collection of literary critiques by writer Esra Yalazan.
The art of creation, whether through drawing, painting, engraving, woodworking, creating graphics for the shop, vectors for my engravings or curating beautiful pieces of nature, is a very huge and important part of who I am. It is how I choose to spend my spare hours when I am not caring for my family. I make, gather and offer here only what I create, truly love, use myself or would want to have in my own home and hope that you may also find something here that you would like to bring into your own space!
